My Lord! Open up for me my heart. And ease for me my task. And untie the knot of my tongue.
That they may understand my speech.

Photo Day

So not only did our tiny class have trouble convincing the photographer that we seriously only had 9 people, we didn't get seats!

PREJUDICE!

As in, they didn't bother letting us squash onto one of the benches. It was just like: stand up, in a row, right in the middle of nowhere, that's good....

Click.

Ok.

It was kinda funny. The guy was all like, 'Sayyy whaaat? Only 9 of you? Seriously, no time for jokes!' Hey, and I didn't even smile! On the single shot! You know I can't smile on cue, but the lady didn't make me. Awesome lady. Oh, what's not funny is being the shortest. But, compared to the shorties in the other classes, I guess I'm ok.

Poptimism.
(:

Drew ballerinas in art... when the teacher wasn't looking. Missed out on French 'cause of the photos, which is good, my mark for the letter to Amelie will be delayed. Oh, you know the first thing S said when Mrs K said our writing task was to write a letter to Amelie? He said; 'Is she hot?'

Boys.
^^

Lit... we finished the A Streetcar Named Desire movie. Star thinks I'm like Blanche. In the sense we're both psycho? Yeah. Oh, what is it with everyone wanting to know what superhero power you'd want these days? I mean, I asked Danny, I got asked in Get Smart, I think Star, Sabrina and I discussed it, and my sister asked me this morning.

Well, I might as well say that I'd love to be able to fly.

Ohhh, the homework is starting to pile up! Nuu! I've got so many SACs and tests coming up. I'm going to cry. Mentally.

ATM:

Writing: The Faux Princess. Slow and steady! Remember that! Ok, but I think I like action stuff better...
Listening to: Out of Sight. Outlandish. Me! That song was meant for meeeee!
Reading: The Rosie Black Chronicles: Genesis. Lara Morgan. I'm going to be starting it, 'cause I finished Arty.
Feeling: Dread. Homework. Does that not say it all?

My new song words...

Say what you want but
You all alone and all the time it's hard to see love
Probably some teen stuff
I know you want mine
'cause I ain't got the time
We scratch the surface some other time, a'ight?
Speaking of which I heard a rumor going around about ya
Oh I'm sorry if it sounds feels like I'm bothering ya
Why keep it all inside?
It's like dying alive
Quiet water runs deep
It shows in your eyes
Peace in,
Laila

Can I Get A Hand in the Air?

Today is a good day.

AIIIIIIIIIIIIIII CHIHUAHA TODAY IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AND FANTABULOUS AND SUPERCALAFRAGILISTICEXPIALADOCIOUS!

...

Um. What happened in school? Nothing happened in school. No, something happened in school 'cause all these other good things happened and um let me think? I... don't know. Uh... I was the only one who did my biology homework.

Moral: Do not eat food upside down. It feels like everything's going up your nose and it gives you a headache. And if you eat sugar like moi, everytime you breathe you can't get the sugary taste out of your... nose? Mouth? For the next twenty minutes, anyway.

:)

Speaking of bio, I saw Mr F's baby!

*squeal*

OhMyGosh, he was such a cuuuuute baby, with big blue eyes and blondie curls and chubby cheeks and soccer uniform... I was superdy stunned 'cause we were walking to the lockers after lunch and he just pops around the corner randomly with his wife and kiddie, and I'm like:
:O

Yeah. And then I say: 'Ohmygosh!'

How original, right? And then Star drags me away and I realise that I have missed out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Baby's gone! Wahhhh!

Yeah, but I said this was a good day. Baby is good. Chamsi came to visit school, also good. Annnnnd...

I

WATCHED

TANGLED!

Dudes! It is one awesome and hilarious and afjaldjhsalkdjfhaafkiernxczxo movie! Indescribable! Phantasmagorical!

I want a frypan!

Uhuh. Sorry. Too high. Uh, oh yeah, I made Anastasia work on my laptop, so at some point I will make Star watch it :) And.... forget it. Oh yeah, Sam's grandma has the same name as mine.

O.o

ATM:

Writing: Paper Moon. Finished it, short thing.
Listening to: Desert Walk. Outlandish. What a party song.
Reading: Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex. Eoin Colfer. Did I mention I've made a morning reading routine?
Feeling: Ditzy. Sorta high too.

Song words of the moment....

Walk like lions
Talk like bedouins
Check my signs
Leave no evidence
Dirty, dirty
East is heavy
Destination
Copenhagen

Peace in,
Laila

The Freaky Blue Thing

This is the freaky blue thing:
O.O

:P

Today was the athletics carnival! Our house won! Why? Because we had the Freaky Blue Thing!

Kidding. We won 'cause of our awesome participation and winning. But the Freaky Blue Thing... my sister knows who's in the suit and she says he's very strange. He writes upside down O.o

Ok, ok, athletics carnival. I was gonna enter the 100m (and maybe 200m) because Priya promised we'd do it together... and she didn't come to get me! She ditched me! Ran without me! I would have been more angry, but seeing as we won, it don't matter, right?

But something else is bothering me. My sister's friend, um, Naomi, won 10 events! TEN!! Ten blue ribbons pinned to her shorts, as well as a red ribbon for second in the relay. I also heard she encouraged the whole group to enter. You know what that means? In the end, on her own, she scored over 100 points for our house. We won by less than 100 points. Her contribution was probably the most vital... and yet, when we finished the day with the house meeting, the captains and teacher didn't even mention it. No special applause for her. COME AWN! She was THE MAN!!

Well, I do love watching/participating in running races. I just wish high school wasn't so scary. My sister entered a lot, it being her last year. God, she runs like a grandma. I watched her 800m ... hobble.
Eet wuz helahrius. Even she admits it.

Um... I have a tummy ache. It hurts. So I don't know what else to go on about.

ATM:

Writing: The Faux Princess. Making progress. It's happening slowly, but it's happening. Over 1700 words now.
Listening to: All My Bells Are Ringing. Lenka. The title of Meli's piece just randomly brought it up.
Reading: Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex. Eoin Colfer. Ohmy, Arty's ****** *** ****!!
Feeling: Siiiiick. With five i's.

Singing....

All my bells are ringing just for you
And I got no desire for someone new

So take my heart this christmas
And wrap it in a ribbon and a bow
Yes, take my heart this Christmas
Take it wherever you go

Peace in,
Laila

The Return of the Killer Hairdresser

Umyeah. I got a haircut.

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I don't like haircuts! I hate haircuts! And I swear she's like 'ok, done, honey' six times and she kept on cutting! I've lost a kilo just because of the stuff that's been cut off! She's mad, I tell you, mad!!

Ok, I exaggerate. Aunty F's not that bad. I just don't like haircuts. But I'll optimistically say that at least I still have hair on my head. I'm not, like, bald. And I'll just sing 'I Am Not My Hair' to make myself happy.

^^

So, what else has happened?

Oh yeah, this morning, my daddy forgot to pick me up from taekwondo. Gah, this has happened so many times now I've stopped getting insulted :/

Yesterday, Aiza came over with the older sister to... 'study'? Well, basically, our parents were going to a fundraising dinner and we didn't wanna go, and our older sisters are 'VCE kids' so they have to be home and doing work... and we did 'homework'. I did! Like, I finished French. And Aiza did stuff too.

And ok, maybe we watched half of The Golden Compass and also Monster-in-Law (btw, did you know 'mother-in-law' is an anagram of 'woman Hitler'?) but we so did work too. Sort of.

That was fun. What else? I should go back to Friday... class was awesome! We got so off track with this and that... and I learned that Islamically, my name is.. oh wait, I'll just use the anagram name. So my anagram name would be, Islamically, 'Laila, the illegitimate daughter of  'N', daughter of  Mysis'. Ohmigosh, isn't that funny? I'm illegitimate. Mama, what have you been up to? *wink*wink**nudge*nudge*.

Kidding.

Ok, because I've been saying I would show Sam for ages, I'm going to put the photos I took in Malaysia here. Not all of them. Just some.  Here goes...

Note that they were all taken via my daddy's phone camera. The foggy ones are in 'Genting Mountain' (I'm not sure how to spell these). The sunset is in Putra Jaya. And the rest are from random driving around.

:)

Ok, ATM:

Writing: The Faux Princess. Well, nothing much, but I'ma write after this.
Listening to: Hear Me. Kelly Clarkson. I'm not sad right now, but if I was I think this song would hit home.
Reading: Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex. Eoin Colfer. Who am I kidding? I still haven't started it!
Feeling: Bouncy. I ate sugar.

Song right now...

I'm restless and wild
I fall, but I try
I need someone to understand
Can you hear me?
I'm lost in my thoughts
And baby I've fought
For all that I've got
Can you hear me?
Hear me
I'm cryin' out
I'm ready now
Turn my world upside down
Find me
I'm lost inside the crowd
It's getting loud
I need you to see
I'm screaming for you to please
Hear me
Peace in,
Laila

Stick that in your juicebox and suck on it

I'm working backwards, k?

We had Literature last. Mr A can be such a nutcase. It was soooo funny. He was telling us about the hyper year 7s he used to teach. Basically, on Friday afternoons, after lunch, they'd come in and be completely restless, bouncing, chattering, and not shutting up.

Mr A's solution?

Basically, he'd shut the windows, close the door, and turn on the heater on high. Keep 'summer' in mind.
Ohh yeah.
Someone's like: "That's child abuse, sir!"
And Mr A: "Yeah, it is, and it works."

^^

Before that... bio. Maybe I should say that PE killed me period two. Remember L? Psycho freak of nature sports specimen?
AHH!

At the end of the lesson, we played netball. I don't have specific preferences for positions, it's not my favorite game or anything, so the captain gives me goal defence. Oh my, guess who's goal attack? Yeah. L.
ARR! He freaks me out so much! He can't shoot well, yes, but he runs like a maniac, and everytime I get the ball he shouts, just, shouts, for no other purpose than startling me and making me drop the ball. And maybe just getting a laugh himself. Oh no, I rarely dropped the ball, but, depending on who, I can be scared pretty easily and by the end of PE, not only was I exhausted, but my nerves were on high. Wahhh. I hate him.

And unenthusiastic people disappoint me.

So bio was after that and I was kind of dead and morbid... I drew Jess as a bird. Well, I drew a bird and said it was Jess. She said it was cute so she was ok.
I erased the bird.

Art at the start of the day. Mr B's computer was screwed so we got another prac lesson. I started and rubbed out several pictures and I think I ended up with nothing? But I helped Star draw the ocean, and I talked to Sabrina and drove her insane (with laughter, of course). And... then...

Well, now I'm home.

OHMIGOSH, THAT'S IT!

So remember I missed out on taekwondo yesterday? Yeah? Well, I also happened to miss out on the only lesson so far where soccer was played.

DX

Wahhhh. How could that happen?

Not fair!

Oh, Star thinks I'm bi-polar, co-dependant and.... moody? I think that was the last one. I'm not!! Well, not bi-polar. Or moody. I just... change quickly? O.o What? I love my juicebox, ok?

ATM:

Writing: The Faux Princess. I started! Uhhuh. I'm just strugging to figure out how to write this. And the title is just a working one.
Listening to: Kaleidoscope Machine. Katie Costello. Heart it.
Reading: Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex. Eoin Colfer. I'm starting that soon!
Feeling: Unstable. Whatever.

Today's song words....

When my night light starts to fail
Or the wind attacks my sails
This little thing makes it worth my while
When there's zombies at my door
I'll sing out like never before
Oh a happy melody
Is all I'll ever need...

Peace in,
Laila

Le cavalier bleu

I am now superior to you. Oh yes. I'm a mutant with powers now. I can make the leaves at your feet whip about in circles. I make tornadoes. Take me to your leader.

Basically, I have finally been promoted to Blue Jumper ^^

What I mean to say, in my school, when you're in years 7 - 9 you wear a maroon jumper. When you're in senior school, that is, year 10 onwards, you get a Blue Jumper. Like, it makes me feel old but intimidating too. No, seriously! I've always found the senior school students scary, and now I feel so gangster wearing my Blue Jumper and sauntering about like a snobby cat. It's exhilirating.

(Maybe I slightly exaggerated things... but it's all fun and games, dear, all fun and games)

Nicole asked me tie her laces up today. I used to tie them up for her in year 7. Never mind that it takes me ten years to tie my own, for some reason I was specially selected to do hers and she likes it. So today she decided to bring the good times back xD

Oh my God, in maths, I like, found out what the teacher was doing wrong! It was wicked creepy awesome! And I passed my SAC for bio! Maybe I didn't get the best score, and it was a little disappointing 'cause I knew the answer, I just didn't have time, but the point is: I. Passed.

No freaky resits for me, no siree
;)

I think I'm rushing this 'cause I have taekwondo in 6 minutes. Eh, oh well.

Um.. what else? French. French was funny. Once again, S keeps a running commentary going while the teacher teaches. Like... she's writing...

Les...

S: Oh....

filles...

S: ...no...

[inserttherestofthatsentencehere]...

S: ... you didn't! *gasp*

Like, it was a completely harmless sentence and everything. And now there's 3 minutes to go... O.o Maybe I'll just do this after, yeah? There was more funny stuff in French, but it's kinda like you-have-to-be-there-to-appreciate-it humour. Like, when S got his dictation all right, he insisted on getting a hi-five from the teacher. He walked up to her and stood there and waited until she eventually gave in and gave him one.

2 minutes....

What else? Uhmm.... speaking of bio, well, since Jess is doing it too, she has to do work experience in November as well. Meaning: I get to stalk her to whatever hospital she's gonna do it in. That's what friends are for, love.

Oh, continuing with Jess and bio. Mr A told us to tell anyone who asked that literature is a horrible subject and Mr A is an awful teacher, simply because he didn't want anymore students (but he's awesome, just so you know). Anyway, Jess asked today, and I said he was horrible and awful and like Hitler.

She was like:
O.O

And then Star and I started giggling, and she says: "I didn't know Hitler was so funny."

And I'm like: "Of course he is! He's hilarious! Natural comedian, dude!"

I mean, all you have to do is think of the moustache. Poor Jess. So confused.

Ok, forget that countdown. I didn't go. Why is this posting after the usual time taekwondo ends, then?

Lemme explain. My dad had to go to a funeral. Understandable. But he took the van. My mother drives the van. She does not drive the car because it is a stupid, sensitive, complicated, fragile car that only my daddy loves and knows how to use. Couldn't he have used just a little common sense and taken the car instead?

Oh, right.

Common sense is not so common anymore.
Shoulda listened to the wise person who said that, huh?

So yeah, I used the taekwondo time to walk and run. I'm not skipping out on the very little excercise sessions I do, ok?

>.<

Ok, ATM:

Writing: Planning. I'm going to start today, I swear!
Listening to: Nothing. I kinda rushed this, dudes.
Feeling: Meh. You know.
Reading: Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex. Eoin Colfer. And ok, haven't started it yet, but that's what weekends are for!

And I leave you with the words of a song that I've never heard...

It's only a paper moon
Sailing over a cardboard sea
But it wouldn't be make-believe
If you believed in me

Peace in,
Laila

Supergirl

I met her today. Supergirl. The real Cinderella (well, I don't think Cinderella is Supergirl, but do I  have to explain what I'm trying to say? Figure it out on your own, carrot).

Ok, I should warn you, you're in for a stop-whining-start-appreciating lecture. I like lecturing myself. I thought you would enjoy it too xD

So, let's call her Fia? She's Afghan, fairly new to the country (been here a couple of years or so), has three older brothers and her mama and daddy. She's my age, obviously, she's... amazing.

What she does? Let's talk a typical day for her. Wake up early, clean and cook, go to school, come home, do homework, clean and cook again. It might not sound like much, but think about it. You've got chores right? A couple? Sometimes more than the others in your family? Maybe your friends? I have them too. Sometimes it feels like I do everything and no one appreciates it. This girl DOES do everything. Every freaking thing. Her mother? Nothing.

A weekend... if she wants to go to her friends house, she has to wake superdy early (like she already wakes up at 8, while her brothers sleep for as long as they like), make breakfast and clean up everything, cook lunch too so it's ready for everyone and then leave. Meanwhile her brothers wake up when they feel like it and go out and chillax. Pleasant, right? You ask why her mother doesn't do anything? No idea. Why her brothers don't do anything? Her older one works, and the others... just lazy? I don't know. I'm just saying that while she was telling me all this, even saying she hates it, she was smiling.

Smiling.

SMILING.  DO YOU NOT SEE??

Oh God, she is so unbelievably sweet. All these little things... like, normally, when you have a teacher who doesn't make you do much, who never gives you homework.... well, the typical teenager rejoices. She was disappointed when she had this dude for English like that, because he never gave homework or anything. I'm thinking: Girly, with all you've got on your plate, you want HOMEWORK?!?!?!

Oh, it could be because she wants some big fancy job in the future. Wrong. It's cute, she wants to be a fashion designer. And you know she doesn't need to be the smartest in those areas for that career. And yet she's dedicated.

And... backtrack to her cooking for the family. She has to make different things for each brother, and sometimes they'd be like 'Aw, Fia, I don't like this... could you make me something else?'

If someone said that to me? I'd scream/cry/slap/glare. She doesn't like it, but does it anyway.  Don't get me wrong, they're not abusing her or anything. She told me they don't shout at her or beat her or anything. If she wants to go shopping, they give her however much money she wants. She wants to watch a movie, so long as she's done her other 'duties' she's free. But... oh man, I complain about the few (compared to her) chores I have to, she's practically playing mother.

Don't you just HATE yourself right now?

Lecture over ;)

School was... eh. Fine. Nothing special. Star's got her pretty curls, but she said she was washing them, so once again I don't have no camera. Besides, she also said she wouldn't let me take a picture. Remember: FBI hubby. It's for the Safety of Mankind.

:D

Oh, remember the sporting incident I mentioned last time? Well, just to prove my point, I painted the scenario for my younger sister (#3) and she knew who to pass it to! No, I swear I didn't cheat and give her hints! I was going to after, if she leaned towards the wrong answer. But she didn't! Granted, it took a while for me to explain, 'cause I had to explain the whole game to her. But she got it! She got it while 15/16year olds couldn't! SHE'S 8!

I trained her well ^^

Speaking of training, I've basically learnt my yellow 3 pattern. Oh yeah :) A little more practise, a grading, and I'm UN BLEU! BOOYAH!

Anyway... ATM:

Writing: Planning. Oh shut up. It's intense, ok?
Listening to: I Am Not My Hair. India Arie. Lovely words.
Feeling: Content.

And I've forgotten to add this due to it not happening, but...

Reading: Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex. Eoin Colfer. I haven't started it, but our library finally updated. And wipe that superior look off your face, Linch. >.<

The words of today...

Breast Cancer and Chemotherapy
Took away her crown and glory
She promised God if she was to survive
She would enjoy everyday of her life
On national television
Her diamond eyes are sparkling
Bald headed like a full moon shining
Singing out to the whole wide world like HEY...

I am not my hair, I am not this skin
I am not your expectations, no no
I am not my hair, I am not this skin
I am the soul that lives within
Peace in,
Laila

Another day, another drama...

What is it with older sisters???

One of the things Laila hates: when mama cries. I hate it when she cries.

I understand that sometimes my mother can be harsh, sometimes she can be a little mean, sometimes she just doesn't understand. But no matter what her flaws, I can live with it, so is it so hard for my older sister to accept it too?  Apparently, yes. They had another fight this morning. I just wanted to beg them to stop or tell them to shut up, but I know they never take it. And I know when I butt in I always end up crying too, and if there's one thing I have to do, it's be happy for my little sisters. I can do that, pretend everything's ok. But I just want my sister to understand that no matter what she does, our mother is our mother and paradise is at your mother's feet. I've had bumps with my mother, arguments, yes, but never have I brought tears to her eyes, and it kills, I swear. It kills.

On other news... everyone, Star is married!

To, like, an FBI agent called Flinton, but that's not his real name, in fact, she doesn't even know his real name 'cause it's for the Safety of Mankind. That's also the reason why I wasn't invited at the wedding. The reason why she doesn't give details and she doesn't even know the priest's real name :P

Ohhh yeah.

That's the story I fed everyone when she turned up in school with her hair in pretty pretty curls. It has an inkling of truth, she did go to a wedding this weekend. But not hers. :) It looks lovely, I'd have loved to taken a photo and put it up, but I didn't have time and they're going down today...

School is GREAT! Really! I mean, ok, so Methods is kinda suckish and GAHH! P.E!

I understand that lazy people will be lazy. But I don't get STUPIDITY! I got stuck with the most AWFUL team today, for softball! So maybe they don't hit well or run fast, but but but... when the ball is in your hand and there's three people heading for home and only one person heading to first base and is practically already there, logically, who do you throw the ball to???

First base! They throw it to first base! Of all the dimwitted eggbrains I get stuck with... My grandma could play better!!

AND L! L! What is it with that dude? I was running to second and he just stands right in my way, and I can't get round him.... that's OBSTRUCTION! THAT'S INTERFERENCE! I'M GOING TO SUE YOU!
Final, shameful score: Loss, 53 - 2.

:P

Et j'ai course de francais... I have to past tense that right? Uhmmm.... forget it. You get my drift.
We learnt about houses!! YAY! Well, no, not really, but I love the casual flow of the class between the teacher and students...
Like, like last week, Mrs K asked us for our emails so she could send us homework, and as we're leaving, S goes: Now, don't send me any bad things, ok? No dirty stuff, miss. I don't like dirty.

^^

J'adore them.

Annnnnnnnnd..... I'm delusional. I see spinning little girls everywhere.

ATM:

Writing: Planning...uhh, yes, it's kinda mental planning O.o
Listening to: Inside Out. Prima J. I'd love to make a music video to this song.
Feeling: Mildly irritated. Settled. Does this mean I'm bipolar? Not being able to decide on one feeling?

The latest words of a song...

When you look at me, tell me what do you see?
A mind that's endless
A soul that's yearning
A heart that's priceless
It's time for me to confess
 Show you what I'm about
There'll be no more frontin', baby
 'Cause the real's comin' out
Peace in,
Laila

La première...

[The first]

Oh yeahhh, with the beginning of year 10 and certain teachers toughening up, I figured, for said particular subject, I should start Frenching things randomly for a better way to learn.

Now.

Moving on.

I GOT A BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH BLAH BLAH BLAHG!

YAY! HASTA LAVISTA! No idea what that means but that's so not the point.
You know what I need right now? The cheerleading team. Too busy stalking down the pirate guy, I guess.

So what am I going to do here?
Ramble on, I suppose. Rant. Sing. Whatever.
No, trust me, I hope to have meaningful or important to-be-taken-seriously stuff, but hey, this is my first post, and I'm allowed a little free reign, right? Besides, Lena's like, forcing me. Oppression, I tell you! GET HERR!

Um, yeah.

Maybe I'll do one of those ATM things. Here goes:

Writing: Planning. For my awesome faux princess story.
Listening to: More Than This. Vanessa Carlton.
Feeling: Bored. Ecstatic. Restless. Everything.

I leave you with the words of a song...

Don't live in forgotten times
May this always remind you
Of the sea under the skies blue looking glass
Let's make this our story
Let's live in the glory
Time, it fades away,
Precious as a song
Cause someday we'll be gone
Peace in,
Laila
